The Philosophy & Ethics Committee of the Held in Trust initiative invites colleagues to take a short survey on the current state and future needs of collaborative practice, conservation ethics, and conservation philosophy. Data from the survey will feed into the Held in Trust report that will be shared with AIC membership at the May 2022 annual meeting and guide future programming and development in cultural heritage conservation.

Held in Trust is a three-year initiative supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to consider the current state, future directions, challenges, opportunities, and resource needs for the conservation and preservation of cultural heritage in the U.S. The initiative examines the intersection of cultural heritage preservation with issues of urgent importance in the world today which affect the cultural landscape, including sustainability, social and racial justice, equity and diversity, climate change, and environmental resource preservation.
